Business Finance Foundations Program

We built this course after working with dozens of small business owners who felt overwhelmed by financial jargon. You'll learn practical approaches to managing cash flow, understanding reports, and making confident decisions.

Duration 12 weeks, 6 hours per week
Class Size Limited to 18 participants

What You'll Actually Learn

This isn't theory for the sake of it. Each module focuses on challenges we've seen business owners face regularly—and the skills that help them address those challenges.

1

Financial Statements Decoded

Weeks 1-3

Balance sheets and P&L reports can feel like a foreign language at first. We start with the basics—what each line actually means and why it matters for your business decisions. By week three, you'll be reading financial statements with confidence.

  • Breaking down the balance sheet
  • Understanding profit and loss reports
  • Cash flow statements that make sense
  • Spotting red flags early
2

Cash Flow Management

Weeks 4-6

Running out of cash is one of the most common reasons businesses struggle. We'll walk through practical forecasting methods, managing receivables without damaging client relationships, and building buffers that actually work.

  • Building realistic cash flow forecasts
  • Managing payment terms effectively
  • Creating working capital strategies
  • Planning for seasonal variations
3

Budgeting and Cost Control

Weeks 7-9

Setting a budget is one thing—sticking to it while running a business is another. You'll learn to create budgets that flex with your business reality and identify where costs are creeping up without adding value.

  • Creating practical operating budgets
  • Fixed vs. variable cost analysis
  • Finding cost reduction opportunities
  • Tracking variances that matter
4

Financial Decision Making

Weeks 10-12

The final module brings everything together. We focus on making informed decisions about investments, pricing, growth opportunities, and when to seek external funding. Real scenarios, real choices, real consequences.

  • Evaluating investment opportunities
  • Pricing strategies that work
  • Understanding financing options
  • Growth planning with financial data
